No Sleep Records' newest artist has arrived to its roster, firmly establishing its place in the world of emo-alternative music. This often oversaturated genre has limited some bands’ reach to their own home towns, but Northern Michigan’s Charmer has bigger plans. Having come together only recently, Charmer has already begun turning heads; having shared the stage with bands such as Pinegrove, Teen Suicide, and Dowsing. Charmer's catchy guitar riffs and heart-bearing lyrics cut through the clouds and has built them a following that backs them heavily.
This summer, Charmer will be rounding off the end of their writing process to begin recording their first full-length record with Modern Baseball’s Jake Ewald. No Sleep Records’ founder Chris Hansen says, ”I am beyond excited to welcome Charmer to the No Sleep family. These guys are the definition of modern midwestern emo. This is one of the few cold-email bands that has floored me. It was an instant YES. Looking forward to big things from these guys.” The band responded with their admiration and appreciation for NSR, having grown up listening to artists across their roster.
As of today, No Sleep Records has re-released the band's two EP's 'Best Worst Birthday' and 'Whateverville’ everywhere digitally. Charmer is currently booking their next tour, and we are excited to see them perform at Bled Fest on May 27, 2017, in Howell, Michigan. To stay up to date with Charmer - they are on facebook, instagram, youtube, and bandcamp.
